Agreement to these terms
These Terms of Use (the "Terms" or "EULA") form a legal agreement between you and Unhook ("we," "our," or "us") governing your use of the Unhook mobile application (the "App") and our website at unhook.pro (the "Website"). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you accept these Terms in full. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
These Terms incorporate Apple's Standard End User License Agreement (EULA). Where these Terms and Apple's Standard EULA differ, the stricter provision applies to your use of the App.
Licence to use the app
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the App on any Apple-branded device that you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Usage Rules. This licence is for your personal, non-commercial use only.
You may not:
- Copy, modify, translate, or create derivative works of the App
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the App
- Rent, lease, lend, sell, sublicense, or redistribute the App
- Remove or obscure any proprietary notices in the App
- Use the App in any way that violates applicable law
Eligibility
The App is intended for people aged 17 and over who currently smoke or have recently quit smoking. By using the App you confirm that you are at least 17 years old. If you are under 17, please do not use the App.
Unhook Premium subscriptions
What Premium includes
Unhook Premium is an auto-renewable subscription that unlocks the extended AI Coach message allowance, Craving Intelligence, your full statistics history, the gradual quit plan, unlimited savings goals, all breathing exercises, cloud backup, the complete health timeline, custom reminders, themes, milestone cards, and data export. Core quit-tracking features remain free.
Plans and pricing
- Monthly: billed every month
- Yearly: billed every 12 months, and includes a 1-week free trial for new subscribers
Prices are shown in your local currency inside the App before you confirm the purchase, and are set by Apple for your App Store region. Prices may change; any change will apply only to future renewal periods and you will be notified in advance where the law requires it.
Automatic renewal
Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase. The subscription renews automatically unless it is cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period, at the price of the plan you selected.
Managing and cancelling
You can manage your subscription and turn off auto-renewal at any time in your Apple ID account settings (Settings → your name → Subscriptions), or via the Manage Subscription link inside the App. Cancelling stops the next renewal; Premium stays active until the end of the period you have already paid for.
Free trial
Where a free trial is offered, it converts into a paid subscription at the end of the trial unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription. Free trials are limited to one per subscription group, per Apple ID.
Refunds
All purchases are processed by Apple. We cannot issue refunds directly. Refund requests are handled by Apple under the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions and can be submitted at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Restoring purchases
If you reinstall the App or move to a new device, use Restore Purchases on the Premium screen to re-activate an active subscription bought with the same Apple ID.
Not medical advice
Unhook is a motivational and educational tool. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. The health-recovery timeline, statistics, quit plans, and coaching content are general information based on published research and are not tailored to your medical condition.
Always consult a qualified healthcare professional before making decisions about quitting smoking, nicotine replacement therapy, or any medication. If you are experiencing a medical emergency or a mental-health crisis, contact your local emergency services immediately — the App is not an emergency service and cannot help you in an emergency.
AI Coach
The AI Coach generates responses automatically using a third-party large language model. Its answers may be incomplete, out of date, or incorrect, and it is not a substitute for a doctor, therapist, or licensed counsellor. Use your own judgement before acting on anything it says.
Do not send sensitive personal information, financial details, or third-party data to the AI Coach. Message allowances (both free and Premium) are applied per account and may be adjusted to prevent abuse or protect service stability.
Your account and data
Your account is created automatically from a device identifier, so no email or personal information is required. This means an account is tied to a device unless you sign in with Google or enable cloud backup. If you delete the App without cloud backup enabled, locally stored data cannot be recovered by us.
You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you enter (cigarettes per day, pack price, quit date, and so on). Our statistics and savings calculations are estimates derived from what you provide. How we handle your data is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
Acceptable use
When using the App you agree not to:
- Interfere with, disrupt, or overload our servers or the App's functionality
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems, other users' data, or paid features
- Use automated systems to access the App or to generate AI Coach requests at scale
- Submit unlawful, abusive, or deliberately misleading content through feedback or the AI Coach
- Resell, redistribute, or share Premium access with people outside your household
Intellectual property
The App, the Website, and all of their content — including software, design, text, graphics, icons, illustrations, and the Unhook name and logo — are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of any of it to you. The data you enter about your own quit journey remains yours.
Third-party services and Apple
The App relies on third-party services including Apple's App Store for purchases, Anthropic's Claude API for the AI Coach, and optionally Google Sign-In. Your use of those services is also subject to their own terms.
You acknowledge that these Terms are between you and us only, not with Apple, and that Apple is not responsible for the App or its content. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the App, and is not responsible for addressing any claim relating to the App, including product liability, regulatory compliance, or intellectual-property claims. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
Service availability and changes
We may add, change, suspend, or discontinue features at any time. We aim to keep the App available continuously, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation — maintenance, outages of third-party providers, and network issues can all interrupt server-dependent features such as the AI Coach and cloud backup. If we permanently discontinue a paid feature during your subscription period, you may cancel and request a refund from Apple for the unused portion.
Termination
You may stop using the App at any time by deleting it from your device. We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these Terms, in particular the Acceptable Use section. On termination, the licence granted to you ends immediately. Sections that by their nature should survive — including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and governing law — continue to apply.
Disclaimer of warranties
The App is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will help you quit smoking, that its content is accurate or complete, or that it will be free of errors or interruptions. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or health outcomes arising from your use of or inability to use the App. Our total liability for any claim relating to the App is limited to the amount you paid us for the App in the twelve months before the claim arose. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Uzbekistan, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, you keep the benefit of any mandatory consumer-protection provisions of the law of your country of residence.
Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The revised version will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date, and takes effect when posted. Continuing to use the App after a change means you accept the updated Terms. If you do not accept them, stop using the App and cancel any active subscription.
